Decentral (school)ventilation unit with heat recovery for installation above the false ceiling
The Ned Air EduComfort CM (Ceiling Mounted) 1100 LN (Low Noise) is a decentral ventilation unit with heat recovery. The unit is installed above the false ceiling and has an installation height of only 368 mm. The EduComfort CM 1100 LN is also extremely quiet and energy efficient. Perfectly suited to school ventilation but also ideal for use in offices and commercial buildings.
Unhealthy indoor climate in schools
The indoor climate in Dutch schools is often sub-optimal. High CO2 concentrations, draughts, unpleasant odours and increasing temperatures have a negative impact on the health and the performance of students and teachers. Research by TNO and GGD has shown that adequate ventilation is essential for a healthy indoor environment. Good air quality reduces sickness absence by 25% and improves performance by 23%.
Programme of Requirements Frisse Scholen(‘Fresh Schools’)
In line with European regulations schools must be designed to be (almost) energy neutral in the future. Many schools have initiated improvement projects to make their school a ‘Fresh School’. A Fresh School has a good indoor environment and a low energy bill. To this end, the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland set up the programme of requirements Frisse Scholen (Fresh Schools) 2015. Depending on the installation and the number of students, the Ned Air EduComfort CM 1100 LN complies with the programme of requirements Frisse Scholen (Fresh Schools) Class A or B.
The Ned Air EduComfort CM 1100 LN has a modular design and can be added to with various accessories of your choice. Heating or cooling is also an option. The unit has a maximum air volume of 1,100 m3/h. Remote operation of the unit is possible via integrated web-based controlling.
The ventilation unit has been developed to provide the lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Based on measurements of the CO2 level, the EduComfort only starts ventilation when it is necessary. In addition, heat loss is limited via heat recovery using the patented air separation module. This allows an optimal indoor climate to be realised, with the lowest possible energy consumption.
The Ned Air EduComfort CM 1100 LN more than satisfies the noise standards specified in the programme of requirements Frisse Scholen (Fresh Schools). This can be attributed to the integrated sound absorbers and the quiet and energy efficient EC ventilators. Noise measurements by advice bureau Peutz demonstrated a noise emission of only 32 dB(A). Low noise ventilation means optimum concentration for students and teachers, which helps to improve performance.
The Ned Air EduComfort is equipped with an integrated web-based controller with an adjustable time programme. By simply connecting a network cable (TCP/IP) to the unit, you can operate and read out the unit via a web browser. When the unit is connected to the internet, the unit can be displayed schematically via EduConnect at any location you wish. This allows the unit to be operated from your own location, via the internet or from an external location. That really gives you maximum flexibility! Of course, the controller can also be fitted with a touch-screen operating display for direct operation in the classroom.
A healthy indoor climate
Corporate Social Responsibility is one of Ned Air’s key priorities. There is a still a significant lack of clarity around the health consequences of using mineral insulation products such as glass wool. As a major manufacturer in the field of air treatment, Ned Air has therefore chosen to use plastic-based insulation materials in all its products where the insulation material comes into direct contact with the air stream. The use of polyester wool instead of glass wool eliminates potential health risks caused by the release of hazardous fibres into the air stream. This gives you the security of having a well functioning ventilation system for a truly healthy indoor climate.
Central and decentral school ventilation
Ned Air provides diverse central and decentral ventilation systems that offer THE air treatment solution within schools and daycare centres. The Ned Air school ventilation systems, in line with the programme of requirements Frisse Scholen (Fresh Schools), are energy efficient, low noise and can be modified to the specific requirements of your school.
